Summer is short enough around here and the last thing you want is to be irritated by ants crawling all over you and your friends and family. Ants are resilient little beasts and while you can buy a few different over-the-counter treatments, they won’t fully eradicate your ant issue in Edmonton. Those types of sprays and powders only affect the ants you can see, but don’t properly treat the full strength of the colony.
Keep in mind: if you’re seeing lots of ants outside in your yard, it’s probably only a matter of time before they find a way into your home. Ants are perfectly happy zipping around outdoors when the weather is good, but if we get a few days of rain or summer temperatures drop (as they’re known to do here in Alberta!), ants can seek comfort inside your home.
To actually get rid of ants we use a treatment process that has a transference effect. Ants clean one another, and often eat their own dead, so we use products that take advantage of these characteristics. The products we use will not harm your children or pets, or damage your grass or other landscaping. To prepare for our arrival, it’s helpful for you to mark where you are seeing large concentrations of ants in your yard. Additionally, if you have ants in your home or garage that we need to take care of, please move your furniture away from the walls/baseboards where possible.
